Welcome to S.V.A. Government College

SRIKALAHASTI is one of the famous pilgrim centers in South India. It is situated at a distance of 40 km from Tirupati, a world-famous pilgrim center, on the banks of river Swarnamukhi. It is also called as DAKSHINA KASI, with the ruling deities, Srikalahasteeswara and his consort Sri Gnana Prasunamba.

Sri Vidyaprakasananda Government College, Srikalahasthi was established in August 1966, with the initiative taken by Swami Vidyaprakasananda of Sri Sukabrahma Ashram, a couple of miles away from the town. The Swamy being a great educationist and philosopher was moved at heart by the then prevailing conditions in and around this town.

The faculty working in this College are well qualified and experienced. They have many achievements to their credit in the fields of teaching and research. Some of the staff members have published their books and articles in international journals and conferences. There are 16 Ph.D and 5 M.Phil holders in the College. At present, two faculty members are doing UGC Sponsored Minor Research projects (MRP) in Zoology and Telugu. Also, some of the staff members have submitted their MRPs to UGC SERO, Hyderabad. Two National Seminars have been organized in the year of 2015 i.e. Department of Political Science and Department of Library Science and one in 2017 by the faculty of English. Five staff members have received state Best Teacher awards so far.
