DEPARTMENT OF TELUGU

 

Many of the students were attracted towards teaching profession because of the influence of the above eminent faculty members of Telugu department.

Vision & Mission:

  • To expos the students a glimpse of vast treasure of knowledge preserved in Telugu.
  • To improve interest in the literature and cultural heritage of Telugu among the students, to promote the research culture in literature and language and to inculcate creative thinking and writing.
  • To develop a sense of literary aesthetic appreciation in Telugu language. 
  • To build life skills through value-based education and service-oriented programs.   
  • Telugu is a state language of Andhra Pradesh. Everybody who speaks Telugu knew that i is the famous temple city in Andhra Pradesh. Many centuries,Srikalahasti is the pilgrim and cultural centred city and the tradition is being carried out till today. Many Telugu poets visited Srikalahasti Temple.
  •  With all this cultural and literacy background, this Telugu Dept. has rich cultural heritage. The department is aware of its vision and mission the faculty who worked earlier in the department left undeletable impact on the personalities of the students. 


Outside the classroom:


 

  • The students are advised to utilize the college library in their spare time, as frequently as possible.
  • The students are exposed by involving them within the class room seminars and quiz programmes.
  • The department gives guidance and encourage the students who appear for T.P.T. entrance examination and PGCET in various universities and other competitive examinations.
  • The personal problems of the students are entertained and solved as far as possible.
  • Faculty members actively participated in various college committees viz Time-Table, Examinations, Admissions etc,

SWOC analysis of the department and Future plans

The  Principal, Vice-Principle, HoD,  Stake holders of the Institute had several interactions, discussed extensively and arrived at the tentative Department level SWOT analysis.  This was again discussed with all the Department faculty staff to finalize the Strength Weakness Opportunities Threat of the Department as detailed below

  1. Telugu is the Mother tongue
  2. Qualified, experienced and dedicated teaching faculty with good retention ratio.
  3. Faculty contributing in design development and implementation of curriculum in Board of Studies of an Affiliating University.
  4. Student centric functioning with mentoring, counselling through teachers and Effective academic monitoring.
  5. Safe and Secured Environment for girl students
  • Weaknesses
  1. Some students evince indifference and hence low basic knowledge of Telugu.
  2. Some students are poor in writing skills.
  3. Less student pursuing higher education.
  • Opportunities
  1. Students are very much familiar with our culture and customs and therefore, they opt for various write ups on them 
  2. Telugu being the mother tongue expression of ideas and feelings will be easy to become great poets and writers.
  3. To arrange specialized Training programs by the faculty.

  1. To improve academic Performance of students particularly Telugu language
  2. Rejuvenating and instilling interest in the mindset of students towards Telugu language which is becoming an endangered species.
  3. Encouraging students for competitive examinations and higher studies.
